1. All homework will be done in its entirety; this is to include questions at the end of the body sections and section assignments. Answers will be clear and in your own words. Simple yes and no answers are not acceptable. These include all of the following and each question from every section. We do not ask trick questions, so its all in the lesson for you. Did you do all of your homework, readings and viewing of the videos?

2. Pictures will be sent of 10 completed projects with complete descriptions.

3. Subscribe or read at the library the Townsend Letter, Herb Companion or the American Herbalist Guild, Medical Herbalism, Herb Research Foundation, Herbal Gram - Tell me about what your thoughts where, did you like it, why or why not.

4. Cut out 10 pictures of herbal products. Tell me what your gut reaction was to each one and send the back together.

5. Keep a dairy of foods, people, activities that drain you, do this for 7 days. What did you learn, send in a sample of one day’s events? What can you change? This can be a powerful tool to utilize with clients and it is good for you to have some experience with it. Keep a food diary for 1 month. You will probably ask for a food diary of a week for clients, so this will allow you to access what it is like keeping one and what the benefits are. e. Do 1 new activity every week/month, learn to make bread, tincture, hot/cold showers, etc. Send me an example of you activity, why would this be beneficial to a client?

6. Learn about another type of healing, flower essences, crystals, chiropractic care, color therapy, yoga, and reflexology for example, try something you have little or great interest in, challenge yourself. Send me a brief report on the modality and what you learned and felt about the modality; would you use it in practice, did you feel uncomfortable with it, etc..

7. Read one of the herbal books of your choice. Let us know why you like it? Read Holistic Herbal by David Hoffmann, did you like it? Why and why not, please discuss. If you do not have either of these books please find two from the reading list.

8. Identify 20 (you can use the same plants you did in the 60 plant assignment or add 20 more) plants in your area, what are they. Learn all you can about these twenty plants. History, folklore, modern studies, spiritual uses, tell me why these plants are special and fabulous. You use these same plants for your materia medica.

9. Make a formulation from or inspired by three different books from your reading suggestions and; tell me about each one, why you chose it and what it was for. Tell me about the differences in method and application based on the type of formulation and process based on each author’s preference.

10. Tell me about your future plans with herbs.

11. Make an intake form for your practice. This is your questionnaire you go over with your clients. This will be the intake form you will be using. There is an example in the classroom. You can also so a web search and find what others use and how they do it. If you are planning on having a business make sure you add you logo, business name, etc.. from the start. Upload the one you made previously and uploaded or your improved form.

12. Submit completed intakes. Your recommendations and all of the information you gave your client. Provide detailed follow ups for 5 people.

13. Read six books from the suggested book list in text. Submit Four 2-page book reports on the suggested texts or other herbals.

14. Anatomical drawings of each of the body systems. Don’t worry about being an artist do your best. The required systems are, digestive, reproductive, circulatory, lymphatic, and respiratory. Label all parts.

15. Six drawings of plants from the wild. This includes root systems, flowers, leaves, etc. 10. Samples of 20 items you have preserved, dried, tinctured, vinegar, etc. You need to submit pictures and descriptions.
